The other day, a friend was telling me about a guy she met at her new place of work.
Let's call him Mark.
Mark was very friendly and helpful to her at her new job and soon, they became friends.
He began to tell her of his beautiful girlfriend currently serving in another state. He described this girlfriend as the love of his life, someone whom he would spend the rest of his life with, he even gushed on how long it took to find someone like her after being in an ugly relationship previously.
It was a good friendship, until he started asking her out too.
Ah Ah! Mr Man, you just said you had a girlfriend and you would never do anything to lose her. Why all this one?
He laughed it off and said "So because I love my girlfriend, does it mean I cannot develop feelings for a beautiful girl like you again?"
Ah, my friend laughed and shook her head.
Then she asked him, "What would you do if you find out that your girlfriend is having feelings for somebody else or dating somebody else?"
He said "Tufia, that can never happen."
"Why?"
"She is a woman. You know women are supposed to be more committed and holy. She will not try it."
Mark said all this with so much confidence that my friend was amazed.
So in this age and time, with all the information flying fast through our fingers, some men still think like this?
So promiscuity/cheating is reserved exclusively for men just because they are men?
So women owe their men commitment and loyalty while their men are free to do whatever they like?
Mr Man, if you are still thinking like this, please grow up and stop being a baby for crying out loud.
You cannot still be thinking like a caveman in this century. If you don't know, women are not doormats anymore.
Women have learned to hunt and bring something to the table.
Women have learned that their happiness is not tied to anybody else but themselves.
Women have learned to love themselves a lot more and to demand respect from the opposite gender.
So maybe go back to the Stone Age to catch the woman that will accept such or come up higher.
